I cry for my country now far beyond the political. This is about my country’s survival as a humane free nation.
I cry for my country. Once the beacon of freedom and justice in the world, it is now a flaming torch for violence and corporate greed in the perjured name of peace and democracy.
I am ashamed for my country. In a time when Ghandi, King and Mandela led the way against tyranny with non-violence, we degenerate to a pre-emptive war and a new brand of terrorism.
I mourn for the children of my country. Twenty per cent live in poverty without medical care in the richest country in the world.
I am appalled for my country’s religion. Conservative ministers are urging prayer for the death of those who support separation of church and state and preach the killings of gays.
I cry for my country. We have lost the meaning of the truth and resort to Hitler’s “the bigger the lie, the more it will be believed.”
I cry for my country’s rich. So many know only to get more by any means and it is still not enough.
I cry for our abused children. Unlike most of Europe, we cannot get a law passed to stop even physical beating. Our abuse rate is among the highest in the free world.
I am outraged by my President. He shows concern for a single fetus cell and a woman brain dead for fifteen years, but cuts all welfare, health care for our troops, allows more poisons in our air and revokes our constitutional rights.
I cry for the sick in our country. Except for the rich, they get the worst care in the western world.
I cry most for the apathetic of our country. They do not know or care about this inhumanity, a breeding ground for fascism.
I know that crying is not enough, but until one can cry, there can be no awareness and no action. I cry for me who has done so little, except write unheard.
I am proud of my country….those who risk the label of traitor and become true patriots by acting for humanity against our Ruling Class without violence. They are our only hope.
Yet……I fear for me and my country. It is still run by those more dangerously insane than any I have known in my forty years working with the mentally ill.

YOU ARE SO TRUE,THE DANGER IS ALREADY ALIVE AND WELL, IT IS THE SEDATION OF THE MASSES THROUGH CONSUMEING MORE, MORE "ENTERTAINMENT',EATING MORE,WATCHING MORE T.V.,DRIVING MORE,GETTING "MORE",2 MILLION DOLLARS IN OUR TAXES GOING TO THE PENTAGON EVERY DAY TO RUN THE WAR STATE,DEVELOPING MORE NUCLEAR WEAPONS THEN ANY OTHER COUNTRY ON EARTH,........ALL WHILE WE CONCERN OURSELVES WITH WHAT WE ARE HAVING FOR DINNER.....WHILE ALL THE OTHER COUNTRIES LUST FOR OUR LIFESTYLE.......EVER WONDER WHAT THE PLANET WILL LOOK LIKE IN THE YEAR THREE THOUSAND.....AND I HEARD THAT GEORGE IS TALKING ABOUT A "SURGICAL STRIKE IN IRAN".........GOOD NEWS,HUH? FOR OUR EDUCATION AND HEALTH CARE AND INFRASTRUCTURE AND THE PEOPLE HERE WITH HEARTS AND MINDS LISTENING TO THE CRAP THAT THE CULTURE FORCE FEEDS THEM ,BUT,HEY.......IT'S ALL ABOUT .......FUN.......ISNT IT........FUN.....NOW THATS A WORD ISNT IT........YEAH, THIS SURE IS FUN.WAKEING UP MIGHT BE PAINFUL .......BUT I LIKE THAT SLOGAN........."THINK EDUCATION IS EXPENSIVE ?
