Watch your step!

It seems that the official witch hunt has started at the Fort. I'm eluding to the incident on one of the admission teams where the RN 3 had his keys taken from him and was told to leave without being told why.

This tells me that the administration is looking for ways to weed out people with anything possible.

This RN was also told that he could not have any contact with anyone working at Ft. Logan. If I'm not mistaken it takes a restraining order for this to occur. I wonder if anything like this was obtained before giving him the boot. Here again they do what they want with us when they want to.

So my friends my advice to you is to fly under the radar if you want to remain gainfully employed at Ft. Logan. They are watching and waiting for us to screw up so they can give us the boot also.

I sure hope said RN3 gets a lawyer and sues the shit out of the head of the Fort..If said RN3 did something horrible like "hurt a client intentionaly' ya maybe they deserve this.. However I don't think any of the RN3's would do anything to be marched off grounds without being told WHY.... Welcome to HELL...Look out you could be next....

The true intentions of the new DON are becoming clear. Save money starting with the bottom up. Beware, the less power an emloyee has the more vulerable. Targeting employees? It has to do with money. Any excuse will do. All at the expense of patient care. Patient care is the farthest thing from the present administrations collective brain cell.

Does anyone else think the DON has a conflict of interest bringing these nursing students from an unknown college and dumping them off on the units with no direction to staff? He seems to be working evenings and weekends- making lots of money. I am sure there are times when taxpayers are paying his salary the same time he is being paid by this nursing school he decided needed to be at Fort Logan. It seems he is more concerned about making his own pay check bigger and restricting others from getting overtime. I am sure someone out there that cares that he has his own agenda in mind. Maybe Bill Ritter should know about this !

As for his getting rid of staff- maybe he should try remembering their names before he fires them. I see the guy all the time and he cannot remember my name! I guess I offer the guy no career ladder! I hear how he has all these degrees but cannot seem to understand the basic needs of psychiatric clients-maybe he got his degrees from this college he is teaching for!

I think he needs to worry about his own work performance!

-Ever since I learned that the DON was moonlighting on the premises,I have had a kind of creepy feeling about it.True, some of the RN staff have done likewise but it just seems really tacky,"unprofessional",if you will, for the DON to do this.
-As for some of the most recent commentary...I really worry about the treatment given to the RN3 in question and feel we all have the right to know why he was "walked off".What's with the order for him to keep quiet - what the hell right does the administration have to demand that ?! Gee,maybe the masses would start picketing, notifying the Governor,or who knows what embarassing action....
-Also,now that we're back to the "no overtime" mode, please explain to me how HSS,Maxim, etc are so much more affordable?

The new DON is a SOB.

Someone or others have pointed to our purported dependence on the PERA teat, suggesting that we create our own 401's,etc elsewhere.Duh,what a concept!I think the far more difficult pacifier to let go of is the salaries we have come to rely on.Try matching your pay to other healthcare settings much less than in the non-healthcare world. Thank goodness for the shared black humor with my "team",but it only briefly relieves our frustration, sense of inconsequence, and despair.

Not sure what the problem was with the RN3 but wish they would do it with the team leader on 3. Has anyone noticed how many bad things have happened on the team since she got the job?

I heard they are going to take one of the few line staff support in terms of nursing supervisors, that help us out during stressful times, and base them as staff? Why don't the administrators work on the units to help out???? We need our supervisors to keep us sane.. esp on the admission units....
