Undoubtedly you have noticed the floatation devices with crepe paper chain links behind them outside all the units. This is not only juvenile, but it advertises the mess we are in here at the Fort. What would visitors think when they see this? Do we want the public to know what dire straits the place is in? I don't think so.
If this is supposed to be a morale booster they are going about it the wrong way. I remember making paper crepe paper chains in grade school. Why not just post the good things that people are doing for the units outside. Maybe have a contest to see who could get the most compliments or something of that nature.
Administration obviously needs some help in coming up with morale boosting ideas. What they have done is degrading and is a shout for help! I'm ashamed for them.
In case you didn't know there is going to be proposed union meetings on March 9 throughout the day. Please try and make it to one of these meetings. This is an effort that could truly make a difference here at the Fort, but we need to come together and work this out for ourselves because Administration is too busy playing games.

Are you kidding? The ship has almost sunk. The warehouse is a taxpayers joke!
Did you bother to read any of the literature that accompanied the "life preservers"?
The life preservers were put together by a group of employees who were spending their own time and money to try to do something to promote a feeling of cooperation and recognition in the tough times the Fort is facing. They were not done by "administration" as some sort of conspiracy to make you unhappy.
If you hate Ft. Logan so much, why don't you quit? You do no one any favors by promulgating hatred and discord. Have you ever tried to think of something productive and useful to do?
Too bad your union meeting is another 11 months away, eh?
I agree that the flotation devices with the crepe paper chains are a little childish. Too bad so much effort was put into them.
I do agree that there should be some incentive to make us want to excell. Instead we just keep getting knocked back down, again, and again.
Could we at least be treated like adults if that's what they want us to act like. Or is it?
I see the word coopperation in this exchange. Cooperation means helping out, committing yourself with others to acheive a common purpose. Does this define the current situation? No it does not.
The line staff are forced to"cooperate" with the smoke and mirrors solution, "We are all in this together" What a load of hogwash that is. The Fort is a rough place to work I hear. Many people know there is not better in the community. So it is understandable some are very unhappy. The question is-are the line staff ready to take action. The jawing about the union not coming to the Fort for 11 months is irrelevant. It is not the main road to action. There are many other ways to skin a cat-with the union or not. How`bout some discussion on WHEN to do a mass sick in. Maybe gettin some of these administrators to work the units would help the situation. If Keith will not allow it, perhaps the line staff should force the issue. Boy oh boy, Paula Woodward might want to know about the goings on at the old FOrt. These are two different ways to go,not to mention if we can get everyone who blogs the MAdhouse to start contacting the Guv-en mass via e-mail. He may not read one or two compaints, but 10 or 11. A small commitment from each one of you can add up to a big commitment from all of us together.I just sent my first e-mail to the guv, please take action all of you, and follow suit. Maybe we cannot change the Fort, but at least weed out "all" the bad apples holding it down! So the heck with the " We are all in this together" charade. If we were in this hole all together, you would be working the units Keith, but as it is, that is not the case.
The next union meetings are on April 16 at 0800,2 PM and 4 PM not "11 months away".
Someone called around last Wednesday, telling people that the 4:00 p.m. meeting had been canceled. This was not true, and gives the distinct impression of being an attempt to sabotage the meetings.
Believe me, these people are professional and committed Union organizers; they are NOT going to cancel an organizing meeting!
The next meetings will be on April 16 at 8 am, 2 pm and 4 pm in the Auditorium. Be there if you are one of the people who have been submitting to this blog with only negative whining and complaining and inflammatory statements. Here is something positive we can do for ourselves.
And if someone tells you the meetings are cancelled: DON'T BELIEVE IT! Get yourself down there and do something good for your self and everyone else at the Fort.
